The Expedition (formerly the MV Ocean Adventurer) is an ice-strengthened expedition ship designed for safe, efficient, and immersive polar travel. With a capacity of just 128 passengers and a 10:1 passenger-to-expert ratio, the ship offers a personal onboard atmosphere and a strong operational focus on time ashore, typically allowing for two landings per day, weather permitting.
Originally built in 1976 and extensively refurbished in 2017, the vessel features new engines, refreshed cabins with ensuite bathrooms, and improved public areas, including two outdoor jacuzzis, a small gym, and a 24/7 beverage station. The layout is functional and expedition-oriented, designed to support active days in the polar regions while maintaining a comfortable onboard environment.
Built with an Ice Class 1A hull and equipped with modern stabilizers and an upgraded propulsion system, the Expedition is well suited for navigation in ice-prone waters. These technical upgrades contribute to smoother and quieter sailing, particularly during longer crossings, while systems onboard are designed to reduce environmental impact in sensitive polar environments.
Please note: there is no passenger elevator between decks.
