The newly refurbished Expedition (originally the MV Ocean Adventurer) is a classic polar vessel designed for comfort, safety, and immersive exploration. With space for just 128 passengers and a 10:1 passenger-to-expert ratio, it offers a more personal way to experience the polar regions, with landings scheduled twice a day (weather permitting).
Originally built in 1976 and extensively upgraded in 2017, the ship now features new engines, refreshed cabins with ensuite bathrooms, and larger social areas, including two jacuzzis, a gym, and a 24/7 beverage station. It’s an adventure-ready vessel that keeps things cozy, capable, and close to the action.
Equipped with an Ice Class 1A hull for safer navigation in ice-laden waters, along with modern stabilizers and a renewed propulsion system, the Expedition delivers smoother, quieter, and more stable sailing—reducing motion during rough crossings—while using systems designed to minimize environmental impact.
Please note: there is no passenger elevator between decks.
